Te Karetu
You are looking for the boat ramp located next to the Holiday Park. You will see a small shed and a water taxi sign in front of the boat ramp, and our blue boat and skipper waiting for you.
Onepoto
Turn right out of the driveway from the Holiday Park/Visitors Centre onto the main road. After a 15min drive you will come to the “Onepoto Road” sign, follow the road for 300 metres and you will see the start of the walk on your right. The carpark area is just next to the shelter, and you will see a road that takes you straight down to the boat ramp. There is a water taxi sign at the beginning of this road, and another down at the boat ramp. The boat ramp is the water taxi pick up/drop off spot.
Whananui
We can not get our boat into Hopuruahine Landing due to low water levels. The closest point we do is Whananui, which just means you miss out on 1.5 hours/5kms of the walk. Whananui is about a 2.5 hour walk from Waiharuru (the last hut). Just before you arrive to the Whananui site you will come to a water taxi sign along the track, you can't miss it. The Whananui site will be to the left of you, and the waters edge will be to the right. Please wait for your taxi near the waters edge and our skipper will let you know where to board the boat when he arrives.
If there is no availability for the time you are after - send us an email on waiwaixpres@gmail.com and we will see what we can do!
